Blade Runner Oscar Pistorius shot dead his girlfriend!
What a sad news to learn on Valentine’s Day.
Allegedly, he mistook her as an intruder. She was shot several times in the head, chest and arm. Sounds awful, doesn’t it?
Why do we need guns? There have been far too many gun related tragedies in US, UK and the rest of the world. I sincerely hope on this day of love, Saint Valentine’s Day, that all of us shall focus on love, not hate.
As customary, our Valentine’s Day celebration is a very low-keyed affair.
We exchange cards & kisses. And… that’s all!
For years, Hubbie used to arrange a bunch of roses to be delivered on 14th February. However, I begged him to stop it a few years ago. The roses in circulation on that particular day were over-priced and in a poor condition. I thought it was a waste of money.
Another thing we decided to stop is dining out on Valentine’s Day. Again, it is a bit embarrassing to “celebrate” our love, which I believe it is a private matter, in public. In short, I don’t like to order their Valentine’s Day menu at restaurants!
Anyway, enough ranting regarding my semi anti-Valentine’s Day feeling.
Besides, my birthday is only one week away. Therefore, we want to splash out then rather than now.
My card for Hubbie…
“Stud” by Rudolf Balogh.
I just didn’t want to give him a typical Valentine’s Day card.
And this is the card I received from Hubbie…
Obviously, he still wanted to deliver roses (^-^)
By the way, I’ve finished two gilets which I featured in the last post.
Trying them on in the mirror, I’ve decided to make a black gilet for myself. This one will be worn over my “Rick Owen” like leather jacket.
No matter what a general fashion trend is, I tend to stick to a monochromatic colour scheme when it comes to my own personal style.
My all time style icon is Emmanuelle Alt, the editor in chief of Vogue Paris…
I love her cool & understated style statement.
So effortless yet so elegant. Carry on Emmanuelle. I adore you..
