What a fantastic weekend weather wise it was!
The sun was shining and the wind was warm and gentle, I had to pinch myself just to make sure I wasn’t dreaming!
While my mum’s place, Nagano, was still firmly stuck in the snow & chill (in Nobeyama, they recorded below -20 ℃!), my neighbours were strutting around with vests & shorts. Can this be really right? I was glad that it was no longer grey and damp but also apprehensive about this unpredictable climate…
A morning stroll with Mr.B on Saturday.
He wouldn’t have needed a jumper then…
Our fry-up at the Shepherdess the Caf.
I sat with my back towards the sun and felt my nape singed slightly…
Then came Sunday, I met up with Letizia at Embankment and visited South Bank together…
Well, we were one of those who were not good at taking selfies. The sun was in our faces and we were taking this image almost blind. Plus, it was my bad hair day so a beanie was the must. Well, enough excuses said.
The Thames was teeming with ships laden with tourists…
The sight was so enticing and tempting as such, we momentarily contemplated if we should hop on one of those river-buses and travel to the Hampton Court or Greenwich.
A leisurely walk along South Bank.
The tide was low then and some people were venturing down to the river bed and exploring through whatever the Thames decided to leave on its shore…
This guy was busking with his amplifier by his side. The amp was rather hazardously close to the water and made me wonder what would happen if he were zapped…
Any table in the sun was hard to come by on the day like this and we queued nearly an hour to get ours. However, the sun went behind the high-rise building nearby as soon as we were seated. C’est la vie, huh?
Nevertheless, we shared a delicious bottle of rose and I enjoyed a plate of Linguine ai frutti di mare…
Is this the arrival of the spring? Highly unlikely. But the day like last weekend reminded us what we should look forward to. And we could hardly wait for the real blooming spring!
It was incredible!! Long may it last..it’s been so needed – and now everyone is smiling! xxx
I know! We really thought it was like the British June!!
Let’s hope we will have more days like that soon xxx
I was on the South Bank yesterday too, with my house guests … and wearing my new Fei sunglasses !!
Oh nooo! I missed you!? Where about were you? It was a perfect sunglasses weather, wasn’t it? X
We walked from the Tate Modern to the South Bank, but didn’t stay long because there were too many folks out and about. So we crossed over the bridge and went to Covent Garden … still a lot of people !
We came from Embankment and found the sea of people too! Wasn’t it crowded? And guess where we went to next? Covent Garden!! I still managed to miss you…
Haha!!
Yeah, I know! You must have been hiding from me…
And sunny in NYC too! And we put the clocks forward so our evenings are longer and the whole thing is all quite dazzling at the moment. Weather forecast predicts more snow though! Arrrrrggggggggggghh!
Oh no! More snow?! Well, it is only March so anything can be possible. London is still warm and spring like. I just took Mr.B out to let him spend his penny and noticed the tree outside in a full bloom. Still, April can be wettest & coldest. The weather nowadays is very very unpredictable…
Hello, Mr B! I’ve missed you!
The last of the snow is hopefully going to melt this week in Shiga and the plums are already blossoming! It looks like the sakura is still a month or so away.
Glad the sun is shining where you are; enjoy your spring.
Gem
Hi Gem! How have you been? I missed your blog very much!! No more kyushocker? Shiga suffered the heavy snow as well? The damn snow gave my poor mum such a trouble, she is out of action right now. I hope it wasn’t that bad for you. Yes, London is having lots of sunshine since last weekend. And everyone is nodding ‘It’s about the time!’ We had the wettest winter in the history. Even though London did not submerge, thanks to the Thames Barrier, lots of people suffered with flooding. Let’s hope the spring will come soon and the weather will behave less elatically…
It was the most wonderful weekend wasn’t it – everyone where I was in Hampstead was clearly delighted by the weather as well. Long may it last! Jx
Hi Jade! Yes, it was wonderful!! Finally, finally, the spring is here (I hope). However, I am not packing my winter coats yet because it is only March and we did have snow in April some years ago, didn’t we?…
We had snow in April just last year! The coldest April on record since 1989 apparently. It delayed spring by a whole month, so I have all my fingers and toes crossed that the same doesn’t happen again (unexpected rain on wedding day: fine. Unexpected snow on wedding day: not fine!) Jx
Was the snow last April? Oh, there are too many weird weather events nowadays. I’ve lost the track of time. Let’s hope we will have a calmer spring this year 🙂 x
Glorious photos!! Corr those egg and chips look good xx
Haha~, I think the kitchen had too many eggs to use up so they gave us three eggs instead of two!xx
