Like Winston

After the time of the sizzling anger, it came this numbness which made me feel like not wanting to do anything. How can I alleviate this state of mind?

Shutting out all the news relating to that man is one of the solutions my mum has suggested, saying ‘I’ve stopped paying attention to it. My life is too short to be offended by him.’

You roar if you like, ESH. But I am not gonna get affected by you anymore!

One can easily give in to the negativity and become demotivated, depressed and disengaged or worse, indifferent and cynical about the present state of the world. However, as William Cowper famously wrote, god moves in a mysterious way. Who knows what will happen next? Fearing the worst and rehearsing one’s disappointment will never work in reality, I know that, don’t I?

Like Winston Churchill during his darkest hour, I shall fix my gaze ahead and keep buggering on. Because it will be the only way one keeps one’s sanity…

  1. Yes, forget the orange one (aka OfTrump!), but I see on Twitter that it is apparently time to consider stockpiling dried and tinned foods and expect the possibility of martial law next March if there’s no Brexit deal either. What a future? What a country! 😱😭
