Big freeze

Apparently, it was the coldest first day of March on record. Even though the snow caused huge havoc on road and rail, Bella and I enjoyed it a lot.

‘I love the snow as long as it is fresh!’

She romped around in the snow, chasing an invisible something larking under the white surface.

Snow ball fight commences!

She couldn’t have enough of it. She loved every minute we spent on a wood deck behind Hubbie’s office. I kicked up some snow with my Timberland boots and she chased the bits and pieces thrown into her furry face.

Thanks to Beast from the East, my girl Bella, who was still halfway out of her puppydom, could experience and have fun with the snow. I was very happy for her.

Who knows when we gonna have another snowfall? A five years wait? Perhaps?

My favourite lunch haunt, Alpino, had a very handsome snowman by the entrance…

For some people, this freakish weather condition must have been nuisance or even menace. However, experiencing a proper winter in London was a very rare thing and I was very happy to able to enjoy it with Bella…

Staying at home

I woke up with a very stiff neck this morning and had no idea what I had done to it during my sleep!

The snow which fell upon us all yesterday had disappeared completely and now Shoreditch looks as grubby as any rainy day. As you can imagine, I did not take Bella to the park because the ground would be too greasy with the melting snow.

While I am half-crippled with a sore neck, Bella the Action Woman is full of energy and needs some outlet to spend it urgently.

‘I need something to destroy!’

She was trying so hard but alas, the toys appeared to be beyond her reach.
Carry on, Bella and leave me in peace so I can nurse my damn neck…

Bella & snow

It is snowing in London!

And my girl Bella had experienced the snow for the first time this morning…

I am jogging my memory but I can’t recall if we had any snowfall in the city during last winter. Even if we had, it probably wasn’t very much. Not as much as to turn the pavements to white.

Bella seemed to be not very sure-footed…

But soon, she found these white flakes falling around her fascinating. ‘Where do they come from? What are they?’ She looked up quizzically as she chased after them.

Let’s warm ourselves up at the Pret…

Hubbie had an almond croissant and I had my recent favourite, a praline cookie, and latte…

I shall take Bella to Regent’s Park if we still have a decent amount of the snow left on the ground tomorrow morning…

The First Snow

Snow does cover over a multitude of sins, I marvelled when I opened the front door and looked out yesterday morning. Everything outside was lightly dusted with a layer of snow and looked rather pretty…

The air was still and icy – as cold as the bridge of my nose hurt when I breathed through my nostril. So I hastily shut the door and retreated back to the warmth of the kitchen. Oh dear, I will have to pull on a thermal for sure.
A single song thrush was chirping in the distance, reminding me how quiet my mum’s place was…
